Drew Young is a Mississippi songwriter whose shows are built around original songs, the stories behind them and the connection that develops when a room is truly listening. His music moves between folk, country and Southern rock, carried by a warm baritone and an easy, conversational stage presence.

Drew Young is an Americana songwriter based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He tours listening rooms across the South, the UK and Scandinavia, including Eddie’s Attic, The People’s Room of Mobile, The Green Note in London, TWANG in Stockholm and the Copenhagen Listening Room.
Drew is the co-founder of Tiveden Americana, a songwriting residency and performance series in Sweden, and the creator and host of Back Roads & Back Stories, a songwriter series centered on songs, conversation and craft. His music has been featured on HGTV’s Home Town.
He is currently completing a new, acoustic-leaning album and booking listening-room dates for 2027.

Filmed on an iPhone at a festival on Gotland, Sweden. I wrote this song with Anders Osborne, who grew up on the island. Getting to play it there, in front of that crowd, was a moment I won’t forget.

Drew Young is an Americana songwriter, performer and educator based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Over more than two decades, he has performed across the United States, the UK and Scandinavia, developing a show that places the song and the audience at the center of the evening.
His music moves between folk, country and Southern rock. Whether performing solo or sharing the stage with other writers, Drew builds his shows around original songs, the stories that shaped them and the natural conversation that develops with an attentive audience. His listening-room appearances include Eddie’s Attic, The People’s Room of Mobile, The Green Note in London, TWANG in Stockholm and the Copenhagen Listening Room.
Drew is the co-founder of Tiveden Americana in Sweden, an international songwriting residency followed by performances in Stockholm and at Live at Heart. He also created and hosts Back Roads & Back Stories, a songwriter series presented in museums, listening rooms and community spaces across the South.
His work as an educator has included Loyola University New Orleans, The University of Southern Mississippi, University of Colorado Denver and Berklee College of Music. He is a recipient of a Mississippi Arts Commission FY27 Individual Artist Fellowship, and his music has been featured on HGTV’s Home Town among other major Television Shows
Drew is currently completing a new, acoustic-leaning album and preparing a run of listening-room dates for 2027.
